History of Wat Tummickarat:
Wat Tummickarat locates in the east of Royal Palace. Now, it locates on Tumbon thawasukree, Amphor Phranakornsriayuthya, Phranakornsriayuthya Province. Phraya tummickarat is the son of Phra Chao Sai Nam Phueng {builds Wat phranangcheung}.When ascention to the throne, had received the two white elephants. So, he had to make a mercy to build Wat mookkharat {the meaning is the abbot who has big head and body} in the area of old city named Sangkhaburi {the newest investigation is called Ayothaya Sriramthep Nakorn}. Later, its name had changed to Wat tummickarat. In the old testament of handed issues said in Sakkarat 906, {B.C. 2087}. Phra srisilp, Phra Yodfah’s brother gave a raise until 13-14 years and then makes a novice. Phra srisilp is out of gratitude, collecting people for riot. When he knew, he ordered Phraya Mahasena for capturing Phra srisilp for examination. In the evening of that day, there were high class of Phrarajakhana such as, Phra Dhammakodom, Wat tummickarat; Phra Thepmunee, Wat kudidao; Wat suanluang sobsawan; Wat phutthaisawan; Wat ramaward{today is Phraram swamp}. Phra Thepmunee who was older was the head to compromise the three of Chao to become unity and affirm with an oth to the King not to make the riot again. North area has a big pagoda, surrounded by 52 lions. The characteristic of decoration has been built before 19 eras.
